Colin has been a senior surveyor with Surveyor-General Victoria since 2006. He became a licensed surveyor in Victoria in 2000, opting to focus on cadastral surveying after spending the bulk of his early career underground working on tunneling projects across Melbourne. He also holds a Master of Surveying Science degree from the University of Melbourne in high precision close range photogrammetry. He has worked in both the private and public sectors holding positions with Melbourne Water, BHP Engineering, Connell Wagner and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning within the Victorian Public Service. Colin has a special interest with ambulatory boundaries and has carried out numerous expert witness surveys of the Victorian - New South Wales Murray River State border for cross jurisdiction criminal court cases. He has also been involved with contentious river boundary determinations and was part of a departmental team that developed policies for the handling of drying lakes during the 2000 to 2010 Victorian drought. Outside work Colin has two sport crazy teenage sons who will never leave home and an equally crazy wife who constantly threatens to leave home. Not seriously - she just can't handle the boys and the toilet seat. Colin is a keen runner and has played lawn bowls for over 30 years.
