Mr Sandy, a licensed surveyor, is the Surveyor-General of Victoria, and as such is the primary government authority on surveying and the cadastre.
His focus is on progressing Victoria towards the aspirations of Cadastre 2034. The Digital Cadastre Modernisation Program, Electronic Lodgement of survey data are two projects that progress Victoria towards this vision. Ultimately, the aim is to have a land development process that is digital and leverages the systems and data maintained by Land Use Victoria.
Mr Sandy has worked as a surveyor in 6 of the 8 Australian jurisdictions and was previously the Surveyor-General for the Northern Territory between 2014 and 2017.
