Tim Whiteside

Environmental Research Institute of the Supervising Scientist

Dr. Tim Whiteside is a remote sensing scientist within the Environmental Research Institute of the Supervising Scientist. Tim’s main research area is the use of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) with multispectral, hyperspectral and LiDAR sensors for mapping and monitoring of mine site rehabilitation including revegetation success. He holds a CASA Remote Pilots License for both multi-rotor and fixed wing aircraft and has been flying drones and collecting data for over 5 years.
